Nicole: Schattner Diamonds is my husband and I. We've been a couple for over 25 years and have both always been entrepreneurs.I come from a family of entrepreneurs; my parents were self-employed in the service sector. Consequently, I never felt any fear of taking the step into self-employment, as I didn't know any different.I've always had a weakness for the finer things in life. Starting with fashion, accessories like bags, watches, and jewelry, but also interior design is a great passion of mine. After an internship with a goldsmith in my younger years, I was drawn to university to study architecture, and ultimately I ended up back in the jewelry industry.Julian: I also have a weakness for beautiful things. My wife has played a significant role in my interest in fashion. For me, watches and good wine are two luxuries. I was also an entrepreneur in the IT sector at a very young age, and later in my career, I helped a St. Gallen-based startup that focuses on sustainable children's fashion with my technical expertise. Together, we won the E-Commerce Award a few years ago.When my wife then brought up the topic of sustainability in the jewelry industry, I became curious.In addition, my family background plays a role: My maternal grandfather was in the diamond trade, back then still dealing with natural diamonds. His contacts have all since expanded into the "lab-grown" sector, so we had reliable partners right from the start.
